Description
eliminates bacteria that cause many kinds of infection, caused by E.coli, Salmonella, Clostridium, Pasteurella, Staphylococci, Streptococci, Brucella, Corynebacterium, Heamophilus, Klebsiella, and Proteus spp.Microbiology Experiment:
The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of ampicillin and colistin was studied and determined in vitro against six ATCC bacterial strains, according to the National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards guidelines (NCCLS), and in cooperation with Jordan University of Science & Technology (J.U.S.T)/ College of Veterinary Medicine.
Indications
Colcillin is preventive and curative treatment of serious bacterial infection caused by microorganisms susceptible to ampicillin and/or colistin, like intestinal, respiratory and urogenital infections, mastitis, septicemia, metritis and arthritis, in cattle, sheep and goats.Contra indications
Not to be used for rabbits.Not to be used in animals with known sensitivity to penicillin.
Side effects
Reversible neurotoxic and nephrotoxic symptoms, when used for a long time or at high doses, hypersensitivity reactions and sometimes tissue reactions may occur after intramuscular administration.Dosage
By deep intramuscular or subcutaneous injection1 ml per 10 kg body weight twice daily for three consecutive days
The dose can be doubled in very sick young animals.
Note: shake well before use.
Withdrawal times
For Meat: 21 days.For Milk: 6 days.
