Description
S-Methoprene is an insect growth regulator (IGR), a Juvenile hormone (JH) analogue (Juvenile) preventing insect metamorphosis to viable adults when applied to larval stages.S-methoprene is an analogue of the insects own Juvenile hormone (JH). The present of S-methoprene in the insects system during the 4 th stage replaces the JH no longer being released from brain and prevents the triggering of adults tissue development. The larval begins pupation but does not complete development and die as pupa.
Indications
S-methoprene is an IGR and used to control the insect population by disturbing their life cycle. It is used for controlling mosquitoes, flies (horn flies affecting animals) such as Hamatobia irritans , Hamatobia exiguia & Hamatobia minuta
