Each 100g contains:

Colistin Sulphate 200,000,000 i.u.
Doxycyclinehyclate 40.0g

Description

COLIDOX-50 is a water-soluble antibiotic.

Colistin Sulphate is poorly absorbed from gastro-intestinal tract (GIT). It is a polymyxin antibiotic effective for the treatment of Gram-negative infections, especially in the GIT. It is also used in combination with other drugs for the selective decontamination of GIT to prevent colonisation and infection.

Doxycycline has a lower affinity for binding with calcium than CTC/OTC. Hence absorption is least affected. It is more active than CTC/OTC against many bacterial species including enterococci and various anaerobes. Doxycycline is also more active against protozoa (like plasmodium spp.) and highly effective against Rickettsia, Chlamydia and Mycoplasma.

Indications

Poultry: For treatment and control of gastro-intestinal infections (such as Salmonellosis, Colibacillosis and other bacterial enteritis) and respiratory infections.

Posologie

Poultry: Doxycycline 10mg/kg b.w and Colistin 75,000iu/kg b.w daily for 3-5 days. This is equivalent to 100g of COLIDOX-50 per 400 lit. drinking water for 3-5 days.
