Wide spectrum bactericide antibiotic for the treatment and prevention of infections caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to gentamicin (of the genitourinary, respiratory and gastrointestinal systems; mastitis, metritis, cutaneous infections, postoperatory infections, septicemias, among other).Kontra-Indikationen
- Contraindicated in animals with: hypersensivity to aminoglycoside antibiotics, renal insufficiency, vestibular or sight dysfunctions.- Do not mix with other drugs potentially nephrotoxic or muscle paralyze(myorelaxing drugs).
- Do not use in case of renal deficiency. If there is not any renal function test the treatment must not be exceed more than 5 days. There must be considered long dosage intervals if its possible to use anesthesia since the halothane increases the gentamicin half life.
Nebenwirkungen
- Can occur renal damage and/or ototoxicity, oftenly with alteration of the vestibular function, if the product is administered in high doses and during long periods, in rare cases can occur respiratory paralysis due to neuromuscular blockage(at very high doses)Dosierung
Intramuscular, subcutaneous, intrauterine or intramammary for 3-5 days. Major animals: 1 mL/27.5 Kg. Minor and young animals: 1 mL/14 KgRückruf-Zeiten
